The artist my artwork is influenced by is Picasso he has a unique technique and his artwork is very shifting. It hard to match his design and skill. He uses water colors and blends them very well. Throughout my artwork I wanted to communicate a similar but brighter picture of what Picasso made so it could bring it out more. This artwork reflects on my person experiences because I’m an extra and hype person so this is a reflection of my action and personality. The tools I used to create my artwork was water paint, water, paint brushes and a canvas broaden type paper. I used the water paint to give off a mixer of blurred colors and tone. I usec the different brushes to get into small spot, to do the bigger spots easier and to make sure my colors blended. The water gave me the necessary component to mix the colors and add an extra bright tone. The artwork I made is a picture of a girl laying on her two arms, eyes closed, head cocked to one side as she rest her background is darker but she’s brought out by bright blues, yellows, reds and whites. The background gives you a more settled darker look. With the background being black and lighten up with bright orange to outline the door and the ceilings designs. The ladies face is mashed together with multiple bright colors as well as the blue table she lays on. This artwork relates to my previous work because everything I make I make it bright so it draws your attention. It just matches with the flow and tone of the other art pieces I’ve created. The process I used to create this is first writing my own rubric on what I was doing for my benchmark and when did I want certain things completed. Then, I googled different images from my artist. Looking at his technique trying to see what I could mock I found the artwork of the girl. Next class I figured out what materials I wanted to use and started to get started with the outline. I tried first in my sketch book then on my canvas paper. Having to make it bigger so it took up a lot of the page I finally completed the sketch. Next I looked into the artist colors and saw what I had to work with. I placed the colors on my palate and started paint my sketch. Day by day I began to have it complete. Next I had to start working on the very detailed pattern in the background. Getting it most of the way I finally complete my art piece. The artist that makes similar work to mine would have to be the man who inspired me who is Pablo Picasso (https://www.pablopicasso.org/picasso-paintings.jsp). The technique that’s important to me would have to be the blending portion. Blending is a technique that takes lots of patience. A new technique I learned is how to fade. I was most proud of the girl in the painting it looked so similar to his work. If I could change something I would change the outline of the door in the background and my lining make it neater. In conclusion I learned that Picasso is an amazing artist with a lot of skill and art is all about patience.
Q2 Final Project Submission
My artwork is a crown. This was apart of the mixed media project. I created a crown to explain royalty and the feeling of being a queen. A queen feels the sense of love, worship and amazement. Looking at my crown you notice the glitter showing the idea of happiness. Also the sturdiness reminding you of the strength from the people around the queen making sure she’s safe and happy. I used cardboard, glue, glitter, pastel, construction paper, jewels, and puffballs to create my crown. I wanted to portray the idea of someone's confidence and readiness to conquer anything by wearing my crown no matter if it’s appealing or not you can still wear it and be confident. Having confidence that you’re still great in a bad position no matter what you look like on the outside.
My work connects to my culture because me being African American and I believe that they are African queens who resemble royalty through my crown. knowing that there are African queens my crown resembles the royalty and connection to the culture it self. It also connects to my live and experiences because everyday you go on you should always feel a sense of royalty like you’re a queen or king and are great. Also as though you should be respected just as well as anyone else. The way I used my tools is the glitter throughout the crown to show a cheering mood. I used the pastel to spell out neej on the front knowing that the crown is specifically mine. I put jewels around the tip of the crown showing the wealth of a queen. Lastly, I used the construction paper and the cardboard to create the crown and it’s sturdiness.
This compares to my previous work because I have confidence in everything I make and this shows the confidence I am not the best artist but I try and believe in my work. An artist I connect to is Johannes Vermeer because looking at his artwork you notice a pinch of blue in every painting and blue is a color showing royalty. A certain technique that helped me was making sure I used my materials together and try everything. I’m most proud of the purpose of my crown. I would change the look of my crown make it a solid color. Throughout this project I learned that you should work at a certain paste and maintain the same ideal look all the way through.

Taneeja's Q1 Portrait Project
I created my artwork to portray the idea of connection and family. I love my family and we are so huge. My grandma had six children which started it all. She had four boys and two girls. Later on, my grandpa had four more boys which made ten children. This made two girls and eight boys. Which gets me to the idea of my artwork. Since I have a lot of uncles and all of them are very talented I wanted to bring them to light.
By looking at my drawing you can see different activities and jobs, while it still being colorful, vibrant and meaningful. You can see the reasons why they should be shouted out. In my drawing I put a bus because one of my uncles drive the bus for Septa, another is an artist, loves to sing and listen to music, one is a personal trainer, and another is in the NFL and plays for the Cleveland Browns. I chose to put their talents as a symbol of them and their worth. They all supported me since the day I was born and I wanted to show them that I appreciate them and everything they did and still do for me. The tools I used were pencils, color pencils, and pen. I used the pencils to draw out my portrait, then I took the black color pencil and traced the outline of my drawing. After I outlined everything I started using color, then I used the pen for the writing on my shirt since it was smaller lines. Lastly, I used a yellow color pencil to create a faded look across myself so everyone can see the main point. This relates to previous work because every time I do work I do it with a passion and I wouldn’t have this passion without the love of my family (uncles). The artist that inspired my work is Oskar Kokoschka https://alchetron.com/Oskar-Kokoschka-1270399-W. Certain techniques are important because as I started to color my body in yellow to bring it out, I notice that the technique of fading made it look neater. The technique| of neatness and accurate measurements are always good skills.
I’m a model. I’ll be successful.
When I was 12 I started to think of things that interest me. Modeling came to mind. I told my mother that I wanted to model. She put me in John Roberts Power a modeling school. Paying sixty five dollars every Saturday I would go downtown during the summer to pursue my dream. The school not only taught me modeling but etiquette and acting. I’ve been had the dream of one day acting this did not only help with that but with modeling too. After John Robert Powers I tried out for my first fashion show it was with “Suede Square”. I made it and from there people saw me model and wanted me for their shows. On Sunday May 22nd I modeled for “Malino di rouge”, she started young with her dream and now sells hundred dollar clothing. She successful with her line and one day I want to be the same. I chose to put a runway in my photo because it describes me and my life. My success one day will be from modeling I am confident and will be successful.
