Natural Disasters and Earth Systems
My group and I choose tsunami as our natural disaster. We choose to talk about tsunamis because we felt like we knew more information on others. Each natural disaster can effect each of the earth spheres in different ways, but in my opinion tsunami have to be one of the worst. Tsunamis are huge waves that crash on to land and destroy everything.

Limited Palette Painting
For my quarter 2 project I choose to do the limited palette painting. Which is a painting with limit amount of colors. Throughout this project I used acrylic paint. What I did for my project was simple, I choose the colors white and black. Since the only color I could get from mixing the two I chose is gray (but you are able to receive different shades of gray from this).
My project illustration is an eye with a city skyline. I choose this because while doing this project I was writing a poem about what I see on a daily basis. One thing I could remember seeing everyday is the city skyline, I see it from my house when I look out my bedroom window and I always see it from my school when I look out the window. Traveling from school to my house I see the city skyline before I go underground and once I get above ground. I used dark colors in this because the poem I wrote describes the darkness of everything I see. I felt as though the dark colors fit well with the meaning behind it. Since I made everything so dark I but the moon in my eye to make it feel as if it was night, because when I think of night, I think of dark colors.

Rachel McCann Art Project
My artwork is not the best, but it does have meaning. The meaning behind it is you can always overcome any issue. My artwork is me with no face, my face is filled with words and drawings that represent me. The words that were used were beautiful, peaceful, caring,successful and strong. I chose these words because either these are things I want/hope to be or things I feel as though I am. The background is a brick wall, some of the bricks have words, phrases, and images that people have said to me, trying to bring me down. Some bricks are cracked because I no longer care what people think or say, and others are left blank because I have a whole life ahead of me to live and I will not know what people will say or do till then.
The tools I used for this project are pencils and pastels. I used a pencil to draw my artwork on the piece of paper we were given, and I used pastels because I want catch one's eye. No one inspired me to do this piece, I just followed my hand. I am most proud of the thought process I did for this project. If I would change one thing in my project it would be adding more drawings that represent me. One thing that I have learned through completing this project is how to use pastels with limited of space.

This six word memoir is about concerts, for many reasons but mostly due to the fact that my father and I grew a close bond over them. When I was 7 my first concert was on a Friday and we sat in the very last row to see Green Day. Ever since then the bond with my father grew closer and stronger. Which lead to tons more concerts, many more.
Physics Project
What I did for this project was made it light up, I did not pick out the stuff animal. The reason why we chose to light up a stuff animal was because since my partner and I were young we always had stuff animals, I still do. They used to mean a lot to the both of us, which is why we picked it (also because it is cute). To make the circuit was simple, all I had to do was make a series with a couple lights and connect them to 9 voltage battery.

The meaning behind my artwork is something that people would not think it is deep, but to me it is. My artwork is something that my friends and I would draw everywhere. I started drawing this when I was seven years old and anywhere we hung out it was there. I missed the how easy life was then, which inspired my artwork for this project. My location honestly is not the meaningful to me, I just picked a random spot. This project did not change my perception of art, the way I saw art before I took this class, is the way I see it now. When I walk around I would take pictures of artwork I liked and post them on Facebook or somewhere else, this project didn't change my view on art because it was still this same.
The Internet & You
This slideshow is about how the internet can effect you and I, I showed the positive effect it can have on people.
Slide 2 is where it starts to show the effects, slide 2 effect is friendship, the pictures are showing how people connect and become family to each other. I picked friendship for slide 2 because thanks to be on facebook, instagram etc. I have made every powerful bonds with people I can never forget.
Slide 3 is about success, the pictures show people moving higher up in life. I picked success for slide 3 because many people have tried to make an amazing online profile with lead to great things, for example better jobs. So I feel as though success is very important on the internet.
Slide 4 is about personal things shouldn't be on the internet. My number one rule on to survive the internet is to not post personal things on facebook, on anything. Somethings are meant to be left unsaid, facebook is not a journal so do not post family issues, personal problems, stuff like that online!
Social Media Survival Guide
On social media I am Rachel McCann or Rachel isn’t McCann, I appear as a crazy/ caring person in some people’s eyes others a sad little girl. People see me this way because of status I post on facebook, or the pictures I post on instagram. Some people think this of me because of my appearance others because they actually know me. I consider everything before I post anything on facebook. Pros of sharing online is you get to show everyone my favorite pictures and share great times. Cons of sharing online people can take it the wrong way or make fun of you. Once you put something online you can NEVER take it down. Either good or bad it will haunt you for the rest of your life, it follows you. It’s like a bad dream that you can never wake up from.
Free speech is what we can say and not get in trouble, like we can protest but it needs to be a peaceful one once itn becomes violent we broke the law. 3 tips on social media are: DO NOT POST ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR PRIVATE LIFE, if you are going to have a good time with your friends don't post it on social media, and ALWAYS think about what you are about to post.
