Slide 2: An explanation of how the Internet has changed communication. Make sure to use at least one specific example.

The internet has changed communication drastically, now in today all you have to do the send a letter by the push of a button. Just like Facebook, you can just press poke and it will notify the person you that you poked in less a minute.

  • Define Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control as they pertain to the Internet

-Immediacy is when some happens suddenly.

-Permanence is when some is permanent, can’t be removed, or taken back.

-Lack of Control is when someone else does something (post or tag) and you can’t do anything to stop or removed it.

  • An explanation of how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control affect both our offline and our online identities and lives. Include at least one example.

  • Immediacy, will make your reputation go down in flames if you’d post some horrible and one retweet will ruin you.

  • Lack of Control, someone retweeting your tweet is out of your control and then if someone would have put your name on it then people off the internet see it and think of you differently.

  •  Permanence, you can say something to someone and they could never forgive you or then the mean and hurtful comment can stay on the internet.

  • What are two ways that you can actively manage and protect your identity and your reputation online? (one of each)

-By not posting things that will hurt you or someone else as a person.

-And my watch what other say in your comments or what others tag you in.

  • Answer the question: “Does the Internet have rules?” Use at least one specific example.

Yes and no because the whole internet itself doesn’t have rules but the websites have rules, and most of the websites have consequences.

  • Define cyberbullying in your own words.

    • Describe at least 2 kinds of cyberbullying and why they are considered cyberbullying

  • Mashups because that’s what all the bullying is on the Internet

  • Shaming because that’s what a lot of people do, when someone does something wrong everyone talks about it and makes it a trend, so basically bullying is a trend.

  • Provide advice for: victims, bullies and bystanders of cyberbullying If you are getting bullied, please tell someone, you might not think it’s a big deal but it is, others have been in positions

-Beware of viruses

-Treat others as you want them to treat you
