The internet has changed communication because social media was created. An example is Snapchat.

Slide 3:Define Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control as they pertain to the Internet and explain how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control affect both our offline and our online identities and lives. Include at least one example for each.

An example is “Nicole’s Story.” Permanence: The length of time that the thing is on the internet. Permanence is harming our lives because if we don’t like what we posted, it is going to stay there for a while. An example is your online record.Lack of Control: When someone doesn’t have control of the thing that they posted. Lack of control is affecting us because we can’t control what could happen to what we post. An example is a picture that you deleted but someone screenshotted it.

                        Internet Survival Guide QUESTIONS

Slide2:

Internet has changed communication because before the internet use people only used to have  phone to communicate. But now the internet has changed the communication because now most of the people use facebook, whatsapp, viber, imo etc to communicate, for example in 1977, people only used to have phone to communicate, now people can communicate by messenger, instagram, whatsapp etc.

Slide 3-4:

Immediacy- how quick a photo, comment, or video can spread  around the world.

Permanence- Once you post something on online, Even if you delete the post, but it still can be somewhere else.because people can save  screenshot and download the post.

Lack of control-  After you  post something on online, you’re not going to have that much control on it.

Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control affect both our offline and our online identities. For example when a famous person  wanted to post a picture  on online but accidentally she posted the wrong thing. And when she posted the picture. Immediacy started to happen because  People started to like, comment and share it. Permanency is that  people can also screenshots and download the picture. And In this case lack of control happened  because after she posted the picture she didn’t have that much control on it.

Slide5:

The two ways that you can actively manage and protect your identity and your reputation online are you should create a password that is hard to remember. And try not to put your private information like your phone number, addresses etc online.

Slide6:

I think the Internet does have rules but most of the people don't follow them for example: you cannot use facebook until you're 13.

Slide 7:

Cyberbullying is the act of bullying someone  by using technology.  (as by posting mean or threatening messages about the person online)

Slide 8:

The 2 kinds of cyberbullying are Unintentional and harassment. Unintentional cyber bullying is Online posting or texting that makes someone feel uncomfortable or upset without meaning to. and harassment cyberbullying is sending  threatening message to someone. They are considered cyberbullying because by doing these kinds of things they tried to harm the person’s reputation.

Slide 9:

The advice that I have for the bullies are you shouldn’t do these kinds of things. Because by doing these kinds of things you ruining the person's reputation. And if you're the victim  think before you act.. And if you are the bystanders stop the bullies  to do this kinds of things.

Slide 10:

  • Think before you post something on online.

  • Don’t post something that harm others.

  • Be the person you’re in offline.

  • Don’t post your private Information on online.

Slide 2) now a days people don’t say things to each other, They are always in their phone checking on snapchat, instagram, facebook, twitter or whatever they have. I feel like with all this technology and social media people are having less face to face conversations and Interacting with people.

Slide 3) Permanence- once you post something (inappropriate or appropriate) it stays for ever in the internet doesn’t matter if you delete it or not.

Lack of control -  When you post something disrespectful that you know you weren’t suppose to post

Immediacy- How quick a picture or video could be sent online

All of these can affect our offline and online identities because if something bad happens to whatever you post, it will stay with you forever and people will constantly bring it up and you will be known as that person in the video, picture or whatever you post. For example permanence because if you decide to take it down someone probably saved it or download it. Lack of control is something that affects you also because you are posting something that you aren’t suppose too and people are going to lose respect for you. Lastly immediacy can also affect you by how a picture you take down can already be sent to another website by another person.

Slide 4) Two ways you can protect your identity is by not posting any personal information and not sharing everything to everyone

Two ways you can manage your reputation online is putting all of your accounts on private and blocking/reporting people.

Slide 5) “Does the Internet have rules?” yes the internet does have rules and people should obey them because there will be consequences if you don’t follow them. Just because people aren’t following doesn’t mean you have too.

Slide 6) How I define cyberbullying when someone anonymous is attacking someone else with rude/mean/hateful comments on someone’s page or picture. Also when you are threatening the person.

Slide 7) 2 kinds of cyberbullying are harassment and impersonation. Harassment is considered cyberbullying because you are repeatedly sending someone harming and offensive messages to the person. Impersonation is also cyberbullying because you are pretending to be someone else that is sending mean things, false information or hurtful comments to someone who isn’t even you.

Slide 8) Advice I have for victims, bullies and bystanders of cyberbullying is why are you bullying this person? Have they done anything to you? Are you going to be that person who is a going to act like a troll online and try to be normal in person? Also bystanders speak up do something, don’t let anyone get bully online. They don’t deserve this. Do something. And lastly for the victims who are getting bully just remember they aren’t worth your time. Don’t listen to them. They are just trying to bring people down

Slide 9)  5 tips I have for using the internet is

  • Always make sure you put all of your accounts in private

  • Before you follow the person make sure you look through he/she pictures to make he isn’t fake

  • If the person is commenting on your stuff or dming you and you feel uncomfortable block the person and report him.

  • DO NOT POST ANY NUDES OR ANYTHING GRAPHIC OFF YOUR PAGE BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE HARMFUL THINGS TO YOU

  • If you are getting cyberbully don’t do any harmful stuff to yourself speak up you as a person has a voice!

  1. The internet has allowed people from all around the world to talk chat and share whatever they choose to from videos to money to various different things.

  2. Immediacy- how fast information is put out there from one user to another

Permanence- is when you post something online it stays there no matter if you delete ii, it never completely goes away

Lack of control-  Is the lack of control of the people in possession of the info you put out there.

     3.

     4.   The internet does have new but there is really nothing or no one to enforce it.

     5.   When you make jokes or do something to “intentionally” ruin a persons day.

     6.   Trolling even though it is funny it is bullying because you are messing with them and harassing them just to get a reaction out of them for your entertainment. Another one is scamming because there are alot of kids on the internet and when they hear free they instantly click on it.

   7. For bullies there is no reason I know that you were bullied yourself but that is no reason that you be treating people like this. For victims there are people that care about you and I promise just get through this it will always get better. For bystanders do something stand up for the person being bullied and stop it from happening.

  •   Be yourself

  • Don’t care what anyone says to you because it is a pixel just on the screen.

  • Don’t fall for the “free” scams because they are scam

  • Never share your information

  • Don’t bully and expect not to be bullied back

1,The internet has changed communication ,because now you can communicate with anyone however you want. For an example you can facetime someone to communicate with them.
.2.Immediacy is when you post something online. That post will automatically share with other people. For example when you post something on instagram people will see your post. Permanence, is how permanent the post is online. The post will always be there. For an example when you post something you regret someone can screenshot it and post it on the internet. Lack of control, is when there is when you cannot control who sees your post. For an example you post a picture but you didn’t want a certain person to see it, but they saw it because you have no control over that picture.

3.You can actively manage by being active online but posting influential stuff.  Protect your identity by not posting things that are inappropriate.

4.The internet does have rules because you are allowed to block people and if you say or post something inappropriate you can get reported. Another example is that you have to be a certain age to sign up for a social network, but people don’t listen to it .

5. Cyber bullying is when you harass someone online just to make them feel bad about themselves.

6.Harassing is when you sent offensive things to someone multiple times. This is considered cyber bullying because you are lowering someone else’s self- esteem. Outing when you post personal information about someone without their permission.  This is considered bullying because you are spreading rumors about someone.

7.Victims should check their account for hate and be aware of what they are posting.
8.- Don’t post personal information
- Be aware of what others post

- Don’t post insulting posts

- Be safe on the internet because you never know who is watching

- Don’t talk to people who have bad vibes

1. internet has changed communication by giving people the ability to have freedom of speech and express their opinions to others freely. However some people think that this also means that they can say and get away with ANYTHING such as cyberbullying and trolling. An example could be of people expressing their opinions on race while others might take as an opportunity to be racist.

2. Immediacy is to be involved in something, permanence is to be forever lasting and never removeable and lack of control is by the name states to loose control over something or a situation. The way these three things affect our lives  are sort of in a pattern. It starts of with permanence when you put something unnecessary or inappropriate over the internet. Next, is immediacy where people start to find these inappropriate things and pull you and others into an argument of what and why the person did this over the internet. Last, is a lack of control where so many people see what you posted that you eventually start to get hate not just over the internet but in real life as well  after losing control over what you posted.

3. One way to protect your identity is by learning how to spot scams and hackers. Also, one way to protect your reputation is by presenting yourself well over the internet or by making a good first impression.

4. Yes the internet does have rules and while most people generally don't follow them, rules are still rules. An example could be how some places like America having a rule that allows you put people in court for cyber bullying while other places like alaska don't have that rule with them so someone can commit cyberbullying acts and can not be sent to court.

5. Cyberbullying is what happens when you abuse the power of technology and your own intellect and use those two things to harm or hurt others physically or mentally over the internet.

6. One type of cyberbullying is trolling which is when you go out of your way to do nothing more than insult or hurt someone over the internet for no real purpose. Another type is masquerading when you use someone face or name basically conceal yourself within a digital mask and avoid getting caught for heinous acts over the internet.

7. For victims of cyberbullying I recommend ignoring the commits the bullies make since they have no wright to judge you, especially since they don’t even know you. Also, make sure to call in a bystander for help. As for the bullies I recommend for them to stop going out of their way to harm others that they don’t even know and stop acting like cowards. If you want to bully someone do it in person instead of over the internet that will atleast make you look like you're tough enough to go  face to face with the person. If that's not enough to get you to stop than simply remember how rare it is for cyberbullies to escape with their crimes. Most people who bully others over the internet are eventually caught and put to prison so think about that.

8. My top 5 tips for using the internet are to first be aware of scams and hackers. Second, always try to make a good first impression on people. Third, only invite people you know and are familiar with over your social media. Fourth, make all of your internet passwords as convoluted as possible. Last and fifth, don't ever get involved in a situation that could potentially lead to cyber bullying.

  1. Title Slide

  2. The internet has changed communication because we can talk to people around the world now in no time. An example of this is skype.

  3. Immediacy is when there are pictures being posted constantly over and over and it affects our offline and online identities because it’s constantly something to see on the internet and it makes people feel as if they have to see what the current thing on the internet is. Permanence is when u post something on the internet and it stays there forever and it affects our offline and online identities because if we try to apply for a job and the employer looks us up he can find something that you posted and he might think that you're not qualified for the job. Lack of Control is when u post something and someone takes that picture and does stuff with it and that affects our online and offline identities because someone can make a fake account with our pictures and gives us a bad name.

  4. One way you can protect your identity is by not posting your personal information and one way you can protect your reputation is by posting stuff that is appropriate and does not give you a bad name.
  5. The internet has rules but people just bypass those rules most of the time. An example is when people make a google account and they make up a fake birthday because you need to be 18 and over.

  6. Cyber bullying is when you harass a person online.

  7. Two kinds of cyber bullying are trolling and outing. Trolling is when u annoy a person for no reason at all and outing is when u post someone's personal information online.

  8. The advice I would give victims is, it´s not your fault that you are being bullied just ignore those people and don't worry about them because they're just taking their anger out on you. My advice for bullies is treat people the way you would want to be treated and respect everyone because you wouldn't want to be bullied.

  9. My top 5 tips are:1. Be aware of everyone you meet on the internet. 2. Don´t go on websites that are harmful and might have viruses. 3. Never post your personal information online. 4. Never meet someone in person that you just meet online. 5. Don't open emails that look sketchy.
