These pages are excerpts from a Spanish children's book I created with a classmate. The book is roughly 20 pages long and details the story of Maria, who tries to lie to her teacher to elude a test, but fails; thanks to a friend, she ends up feeling better about her grade and learns the value of friendship.
For this project we had to pick a poet and one of their poems then describe the poet's life and what the poem meant and after that we had to create our own poem using the themes of the poet's poem. I picked Pablo Neruda and his poem "A Dog has Died", I then wrote a poem using the themes of death and companionship.
For this project we had to work in a group and research a specific place in a Spanish speaking country then create our own travel agency that would present a powerpoint, brochure and commercial about the packages that we could offer. I worked with Jack, Jaidah and Autumn and we picked Madrid, Spain.
For this project our group had to create a children's book about going to the doctor, going to the school or being sick. My groupmate was Dejah and we created a book about going to the doctor then going to school.
For the Dia de los Muertos project we had to create a mask and/or skull along with a eulogy dedicated to someone close who passed away. The person I wrote my eulogy for was my mom.
